A character cell is a rectangle
A text image becomes stretched when its row count assumes square characters but the destination uses tall letters. ASCII Motion Studio calculates rows from the source aspect ratio and its known cell width and height. At the default setting, a cell is six pixels wide and ten pixels high. The row count is rounded to a whole number, and the report states the resulting aspect difference.
Changing cell height adds vertical spacing around the same 5×7 glyph. The converter compensates by changing the number of rows. This is an intentional design control; it is not a different font or extra source detail. Very tall images can exceed the row limit, in which case reduce columns or crop the source before importing.
Choose a format for the job
PNG stores the actual generated pixels. It is the simplest choice for a document, image editor or social post that must look like the preview. The offline HTML embeds these PNGs directly, includes selectable plain text and needs no font download, script or external server. A multi-frame HTML file has an explicit play checkbox and starts paused.
TXT carries only the character rectangle. Paste it into an environment that preserves leading spaces, repeated spaces and line breaks. Turn off wrapping and select a monospace font. Set line height relative to character advance, not merely to the nominal font size. For a ten-pixel cell, the intended ratio is 10/6. Other glyph shapes still change the style.
Check colors and whitespace before sharing
Monochrome uses the theme’s fixed ink color and usually gives the clearest small preview. Source-color mode assigns each glyph the average color of its sampled region. That color can be close to the background, making the glyph difficult to see. Neither TXT nor a chat paste retains these per-cell colors.
The frame ZIP contains real PNG and TXT files, a manifest and the self-contained HTML. It excludes original image metadata and original filenames. Derived artwork can still be private or copyrighted; inspect the files you intend to share rather than assuming that conversion removes the content of the source.
