Prepare one canvas size for the whole sequence
Export still PNG or JPEG frames from your own artwork or video editor. This tool accepts at most twelve frames and requires their oriented dimensions to match. A changing canvas size would alter cell placement and make the animation jump. Transparent PNG pixels are composited against the chosen output background before brightness is sampled.
The file picker supplies the initial order. After conversion, select a frame and move it earlier or later in the sequence. Use the source-frame number to keep track of its original position. Removing a frame changes sequence duration because every remaining frame uses the same selected frame rate.
Inspect motion and edit small defects
The preview does not begin playing automatically. Scrub individual frames first, then press Play to judge timing. A frame rate of six frames per second is often enough to inspect a small pixel loop; raising it does not synthesize missing motion. Dithering, abrupt brightness changes and unstable source backgrounds can make character patterns fluctuate between frames.
You can edit a selected frame as text, preserving its rectangular dimensions. Apply the edit before changing frames or creating downloads. In source-color mode, replacing a character leaves that cell’s sampled color unchanged. Undo restores earlier text and sequence changes; reset returns to the original conversion.
Export motion with clear expectations
Animated PNG stores complete rendered frames with fixed timing. It has no audio and is not a video or GIF. Some apps show only its first frame, while other viewers auto-play it. Keep the individual PNG sequence when you need to assemble a video in another application or adjust timings later.
The offline HTML uses a small CSS animation over embedded images. It starts paused and remains still when reduced motion is requested by the device. For completely motion-free sharing, use a single PNG. After editing, choose Prepare edited exports in the editor; the initial result downloads still represent the conversion before those edits.
